BARCLAY, Penny

Penny passed away peacefully, in the arms of her mum and surrounded by love at her home address on Thursday 11th January aged 12 years. Precious daughter of Cat and Johnny, a loving big sister to Lola and a much-loved granddaughter, niece, cousin and friend.  

Penny gave her family an unforgettable drive to work harder by overcoming her own challenges every single day.  She has taught them about strength and perseverance by battling her every limitation. She gave them a perspective by reminding them, when they too often forgot, to savour the sweet, beautiful moments in every day. She gave kindness, patience, and a depth of love which will never be forgotten and through her short life, she made everyone see what they themselves are capable of, and how strong they could be, as well as showing them parts of themselves that they may otherwise have never known.

A beautiful girl whose huge smile, unforgettable laugh and ability to make you feel unbridled happiness without condition are just a few of the many wonderful attributes she possesses. She was a fighter until the very end and although her time with her family was short, she touched many lives and was loved deeply by all those around her.  

Family and friends will cherish every moment they spent with her and are grateful that Penny has left behind so many wonderful memories.

Her ability to show her love without ever saying a word is something each person who had the privilege of being around Penny and sharing her life will always remember and forever hold in their hearts.

A service of celebration for the life of Penny will take place at Falkirk Crematorium on Wednesday 24th January at 9:15 am.  

Family and friends are welcome to attend.

Donations if so desired can be made in memory of Penny for CHAS and Ronald McDonald House and can be left at the service or donated personally through the donations link above.

Friends and loved ones are invited to contribute to Penny’s memorial page by sharing fond memories and photographs of Penny or lighting a memorial candle and leaving a message for her family to keep and take comfort from following her service day.
